I noticed that the rank up system right now is based on post count and to me, that seems a bit.....flawed. The fact you could never hypothetically never post in the RP but on the on forums parts and be rank 5 irks me. While some members, like myself, may not have time to constantly post on the forum to attain a higher rank. I think your RP rank should be based off what you do in the RP.

The bulk of everyone's post's are regularly in the RP and OOC threads with a few posts for events such as the daily vote. I believe post count is mainly used besides raw EXP in order for the mods to see that all RP'ers understand what they are doing before gaining more convoluted abilities and quest lines.

The system obviously isn't perfect but the average E rank quest has well over 50+ posts normally split between 2-3 people not including anything done in the OOC thread tied to that quest. Just doing quests alone should give you the post count required before reaching the EXP threshold required to rank up.

The biggest flaw with the current system is more or less how the mod's will have the highest post count having to do all the approval stuff on top of RP but if the Mods have the strongest characters they can lead the way, so to speak and guide the site how they intend for it to function.

If we're just talking about forum rank, it doesn't really matter at all, it only shows how active you are on the forum and doesn't give any other benefits. When talking about your actual rank in the Roleplay, then having a high post count won't matter either because you still need a certain amount of EXP from actual roleplaying.

I think it matters, a lot. For starters, your rank dictates what rank of the quest you're able to go on and by extension how much you're able to earn off the said quest. Not to mention if you're an RP who likes to fight but doesn't have much time, simply posting just to post is a time waster and a deterrent. I've seen sites that use post count=rank and it has put off a lot of people. this site being new and small doesn't have that luxury.

As i've already said, your forum rank is different from your in-roleplay rank. If you post a lot, and gain a high forum rank, the only benefit you'll gain is a nice banner under your profile picture. Your in-roleplay rank (the rank that allows you to access higher ranked quests) is determined by both your post count AND your exp, making it impossible to simply post around the forum and gain any form of in-roleplay advantage. So no, it really does not matter at all.

The only situation where this could matter, is if a situation arises where someone has gained the necessary amount of exp for a certain rank, but doesn't have anywhere near the amount of forum posts needed to achieve that rank. And I assure you, in that case it would only be a matter of us not balancing the rank requirements correctly, and that would be easily fixed then and there.
